Welcome to our student of the month Spotlight! Our ballet students compete for being student of the month in four categories: best attendance, best dressed, best behavior and most improved.
In September, Emily Truong was our student of the month. Emily has been dancing with California Dance Arts for five years, and entered Level 3 at the beginning of September. She shares this level with just three other girls, and works hard under the individualized guidance and instruction of studio director Aerin Holt. Her new favorite ballet trick is a pirouette, which you can see her practicing at any free moment in the studio. She is currently working hard to master tour jetes, and finding them very difficult. As a sixth grader at La Canada Elementary, Emily is in her last year at this school and is moving on next year! Over the summer, she went on a cruise to Alaska with her family, and also did a week long acting camp at LCHS, which should prepare her well for her many roles in the Snow Queen this year…Emily will be appearing as a gypsy, river, reflection, flower girl, flower arch, new town teen AND servant!! So keep your eyes out! Emily Truong is taking on challenges and moving up fast!
