Jaclyn grew up in Los Angeles and received her core training at California Dance Arts where she gained initial teaching experience as an assistant student teacher, under the direct supervision of Aerin Holt, and where she was a member of California Contemporary Youth Division for many years. She graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of California, Santa Barbara. While attending UCSB she received the Dorthy and Sherril C. Corwin award for her choreography, Broken Affinity. She has traveled to Austria where she attended the Salzburg International Ballet Intensive. She also had the opportunity to tour with Santa Barbara Dance Theater in their two week tour of China. After graduating, Jaclyn returned to Los Angeles and joined the professional ranks of California Contemporary Ballet. She has performed many leading roles in the Company’s productions, including the starring role of Thumbelina in 2013 & 2014. Jaclyn has also spent some time in San Francisco where she danced for Napoles Ballet Theater and Mark Foehringer Dance Project. She also danced for Festival Opera in their productions of La Trivata and The Most Happy Fella. While in San Francisco, Jaclyn began professionally teaching dance and AcroDance. As a success story of the school in her own right, she is very pleased to share her experience and passion for dance with the students at California DanceArts.
